ACTIVITIES
The Alsager "13"
Club hosts a number of activity groups - bridge, dancing, darts, short
mat bowls, snooker, quizzes. These are described in more detail below. All these groups welcome new
members.
Additionally, members of Probus and Bhoys congregate for
a meal in the function room. Probus meet for lunch at 12.30pm every
second Tuesday of the month. Bhoys meet for dinner at 7pm every second
Thursday of the month (October - March only).
Snooker
Social
snooker can be played on any night. Members put their names on the
board in the snooker room to reserve a game. If there are a lot of
members waiting for a game, then the etiquette is to play doubles. Contact

Dancing
On Wednesday evening between 8 and 11pm, there is a a music and
dance club that convenes in the function room (closes from the end of
May until the end of August). It is a very friendly and informal club.
No dancing experience is necessary - members show one another any dance
they know and enjoy (e.g. line dancing, ballroom, barn dancing, gay
gordon). The cost for a session is £1. The bar is available and new

There are also dancing lessons on Thursday evening between 7.30 and 8.30
pm. The cost is £2.50 per person. Non members are welcome. See here

Bridge
The bridge club runs
4 duplicate pairs competitions a week in the main function room (Tuesday
evening starting at 7.20pm,
Wednesday afternoon starting at 1.15pm, Thursday morning starting at 9.20 am and
Sunday evening starting at 6.20 pm). Additionally, it runs several
special events throughout the year and the occasional bridge weekend
away and enters a team in the South East Cheshire Bridge League. It also runs bridge tuition on Tuesday mornings starting at 9.50
am in association with Alsager U3A. Full details of the bridge club

Darts
The
darts club meets in the 13 Club lounge every Monday night starting at 7 pm for
social games amongst members. It also runs a men's team in the Alsager
District League and would like to encourage more lady players so that a
ladies' team can be formed. The club extends a warm welcome to
anyone who would like to play. If you

Short
Mat Bowls
There is a session of social short mat bowls each week at the 13 Club
in the main
function room. It's on Monday evening between 7pm and 9pm and is held
all the year round. New players are welcome. Please contact Cliff Poole on

Quiz Night
Once
a month on a Saturday night there is a quiz night in the function room at
8.30pm. There's an entry fee of £3.50 which includes supper and prizes
for the quiz competition. In addition to this, there is an
optional bingo session and raffle. The timetable for this
